PROJECT UPDATES8 AUGUST 2025

Hello, all our friends,

2025 has been a productive year so far...

Tidivi Primary School - The new Kitchen/Dining Hall is now complete. Tables and benches will be provided. The kitchen has 2 stainless steel wood-burning stoves to provide a nutritious daily meal of maize, beans and vegetables. Cooking duties are shared by local village women volunteers. No more hungry students! The increase in their academic performance has been well proven at our other schools with this facility.

Simba Milima Primary School - The Teacher Residences #5 and 6 building is now complete and occupied by 2 excited and grateful teacher families.
They are provided gas stoves for cooking; a much more healthier alternative to the outdoor fire pits and inhaled smoke. And, they have running water in their kitchen and shower.

Ongoing Construction - Simba Milima Primary School
Our heartfelt thanks go to our ongoing sponsor Chris Ronneseth and his father Allan, for this year they have sponsored the construction of a new 2-classroom Preschool Building, a much needed Students Toilet Building, and a Sports Field that includes a football (soccer) pitch, and netball and volleyball courts.

Our Next Visit
Alan will be going to Tanzania in November this year to take part in the official openings of the Tidivi Primary School Kitchen/Dining Hall and the Simba Milima Primary School Teacher Residences.
When there, we will do a couple of significant plaque installations;
At Kilimamoja Primary School, with our heartfelt thanks to Lonnie Swanlund of Victoria, BC, for her continuous support over the years, her plaque will be installed at a teacher residence, and will commemorate her mom Marlene Watson of Saskatoon.
At Tidivi Primary School, we will be installing a plaque listing Alan's 60 fellow classmates from the Royal Military College in Kinston, Ontario, who have been sponsoring the development of this amazingly successful school that is now is nearing completion. For those who may not know, or remember, the Tidivi name comes from the first letters of our school motto, "Truth, Duty, Valour".

Thank You to all the generous donors who have supported us over the past 15 years. The Tanzanian children feel blessed to be in a standard of public school that is considerably higher than the government-built ones with their lesser construction quality and the absence of Teacher Residences. And their better academic performance is proving it.
